MOZAIC WINS FLEXOGRAPHY AWARD FOR SEPARATION WORK WITH GRAPHIC PACKAGING INTERNATIONAL

ST. LOUIS, March 13, 2008 – Mozaic will be recognized for outstanding flexography work in conjunction with Graphic Packaging International during the 50th Annual Foundation of Flexographic Technical Association’s Annual Forum and INFO*FLEX Exhibition April 27-30 in Dallas, TX and will be featured in FLEXO® Magazine’s Annual Awards issue.

Mozaic will be listed as the separator for a Graphic Packaging International project for a prominent beverage company.

The objective of the FTA Excellence in Flexography Awards Competition is to recognize outstanding technical achievement in flexographic printing and to acknowledge all that is encompassed by that achievement.

Tony Bart, chairman of the FTA Awards Committee, stated, "Companies have come to realize that taking part in the Excellence in Flexography awards is a sound marketing tool. By winning an award, even a bronze medal, entrants are able to demonstrate to their customers, employees, and to the industry in general, their ability to achieve outstanding print quality." Bart added, "Companies can then use their success as leverage when recruiting new employees, increasing morale and especially when prospecting for new business."

Flexography (also called surface printing) is a method of printing commonly used for packaging. Color separation breaks down the image into single-color layers for flexographic printing. Judging for the award is based on the degree of difficulty pertaining to substrate printability, registration tolerances, printing complexity, defect detectability, tonal range, and fineness of print and/or screen. Additionally, elements such as image sharpness, ink coverage, registration, consistency, and dot/screen/vignette quality are assessed.
